The Different Types of Massage Therapy We Offer in Hamilton

We don’t believe in a one-size-fits-all approach. Here’s how we customize our treatments based on your needs:

1. Deep Tissue Massage – Breaking Through the Tough Spots

If you have chronic pain, stiffness, or long-standing injuries, deep tissue massage is for you. We apply firm pressure to reach deep muscle layers and work through knots that won’t go away on their own.

Example: Mark, a 40-year-old construction worker, had chronic lower back pain from years of lifting heavy materials. After six sessions of deep tissue work, he noticed a significant reduction in pain and improved flexibility.

2. Swedish Massage – Relax and Reset

This is the classic stress-relief massage. Using long, flowing strokes, Swedish massage helps with circulation, relaxation, and tension release. Perfect for: Busy professionals, parents, and anyone dealing with everyday stress.

3. Sports Massage – For Active Bodies

Designed for athletes and active individuals, this massage enhances performance, speeds up recovery, and prevents injuries.

Example: Jessica, a runner, came to us with tight hamstrings and knee pain. We used active release therapy combined with stretching techniques, and she was able to return to training within weeks.

4. Myofascial Release – Loosening the Web

Fascia is the connective tissue that surrounds your muscles. When it’s tight, you feel stiff and restricted. Myofascial release gently stretches and loosens this tissue, allowing for better movement and less pain.

Best for: Frozen shoulder, TMJ dysfunction, chronic lower back pain.

5. Trigger Point Therapy – Releasing the Knots

Trigger points are painful spots in muscles that cause referred pain elsewhere in the body.

• Example: David had chronic neck pain that radiated into his arms. After trigger point therapy, his pain completely disappeared within a month.

What to Expect During Your First Massage Therapy Session

1. We Talk First – Your registered massage therapist will discuss your medical history, pain areas, and goals.
2. The Session Begins – You’ll lie down in a comfortable, quiet room while your therapist applies the chosen techniques.
3. Aftercare Advice – We’ll give you stretches, hydration tips, and guidance for continued improvement.
